CHANDIGARH: In yet another move to hardsell the city as a tourist destination, Chandigarh Tourism has tied up with a railway advertising agency Snappers to distribute free map and brochures of Chandigarh Tourism among passengers boarding the Shatabdi from Delhi.
The Snappers would have the responsibility of distributing brochures and the rate of 70 paisa for one.
While speaking to the Times of Chandigarh, director tourism Vivek Atray revealed that the idea is to apprise every Chandigarh-bound Shatabdi passenger about the significant locations of the city and its neighbouring areas.
The tourism brochure would also contain the contact addresses and telephone numbers of all city hotels, guest houses and tourist information centres.
The Shatabdi passengers would also get to know about the telephone numbers of the existing air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned taxis from the brochure along with the fixed tariff.
The free distribution of city tourism map and brochures would be started from April 1 onwards.
Besides that, Chandigarh Tourism has decided to upgrade the existing tourism information centres at Chandigarh airport and railway station.
Both the centres would be upgraded at par with the Sector 17-based tourism information centre.
