The Union Railway Budget has given a boost to the Haryana government's plans to build road overbridges (ROBs) in the state.
An official spokesman said the Railways had accorded approval and incorporated in the budget the state government's proposal for construction of 15 ROBs in the state at a cost of Rs 240 crore.
The Haryana government had sent a proposal for 19 ROBs to be constructedat a cost of Rs 312 crore.
He said it was for the first time that one state had got approval for so many road overbridges in railways work plan in one single year.
These ROBs would be constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore each.
ROBs would be built three each in Rohtak and Bhiwani, two in Karnal and and one each in Fatehabad,Mahendergarh, Sonepat, Panipat,Kurukshetra, Jhajjar and Yamunangar one each.
