Rosa, a rose... like none other

"We must all learn to take a stand. At times even a seat. Take a seat.

You have strived hard... to get us to where we
are....

Yet, however high one gets in life, it comes down to asking of oneself, what one can do for other
fellow human beings ?.

It is a very interesting measuring yard by which to assess anyone. Often times, many of the greats did so much good, that was not even known to others, for they did it annonymously. Or at times doing good or being on the right side of the issue meant, being on the wrong side of the law. Or in a loosing proposition as to popularity or personal gain.

One ought not to attempt for anything less than
what one aspires to be. Just pointing to certain
important factors, as little as they be, that I
know, are crucial, in this awesome journey or effort
we call life. We oftentimes have to learn from
those greats who have gone on before us.

I have a philosphical bend of mind, and have no
hesitation in saying I do not know, or that I am
ignorant or that I am sorry. It certainly does not
bear fruits immiedietly. Yet in the long run, it
pays off and pays big. Real Big. It takes a lot
more courage to say that the law or the Nation is
wrong. It takes even more courage to rectify the
malady, having stated that error.

Yes, America and all that it seems to symbolize,
be it money, power, fame, or other fleeting things
such as relationships, friendships or even
relatives, mean more, when we are aware that in this
mass of humanity, every one counts. Be it the poor
and homeless or the uneducated. How those who have
not - may have, is what leadership is about. It
takes courage and honesty above all, to speak
genuinely for the disenfranchised. At times it
means taking a stand even on a matter as simple as a
seat on a bus. Or giving it to some one more needy
than oneself.

Rosa Parks, who will be lying in State, at the
rotunda of the US Capitol, a rare feature for any
human being, rarer still for a person of color born
into a segregated nation, who is not considered a
political leader - a simple poor black girl, who
refused to give up her seat on a Mississippi bus in
1955. It is history beyond comparison. She
changed history, changed the Nation, changed the
course of history of this nation, certainly for the
better, unlike many politicians who get to lie in
State can claim.

Her courage, her faith in herself, her
fearlessness, her dignity and above all, that she
did it because it was the right thing to do, to
oppose and challenge falsehood and discrimination,
apparthied and segregation, makes her uniquely a
citizen of the planet, a citizen who has done more
for the land and its people, than many who claim to
be leaders and are rudderless.....

May she inspire us to live life as daringly, as
simple and yet powerfully relevent. A life of
meaning and courage. What a lady !, what a human
being. May God bless her and may her soul and life
inspire us to have the courage to take on the
scourges that we still continue to live under, be it
war or other such things as lack of education,
healthcare, food, housing or clothing, for the
millions of the poor and suffering humanity the
world over.... May the ignorance that breeds war and
waste be opposed and challenged, as segregation and
other fallacies were challenged and won, by Rosa and
others in history.

May peace prevail and may justice triumph....
May the planet Earth and its 6 plus billion humans
Learn to live in Peace, in harmony, in unision,
And most of all, may the politicians of the world
Stop their corruption, greed, war, lies and
treachery.

Yes, politicians of all colors and creeds, parties
and nations
Are the one's taking the world down the path of
destruction.
The new breed of politicians are worse than the
mob,
They are worse than the evil itself. How do we the
people take a stand ?
May we have more amidst us like Rosa Parks.

All over the world, taking a stand, taking a seat,
making a difference.
We have had enough of politicians and their
cronies and their egos.
Can we have some politicians send to the front
lines to fight the wars
They send poor innocent 20 year old kids to wage
their war of ignorance... ??
Peace, peace, peace is what we need.

Weapons of mass destruction make money and war..
stop it. Now.
Weapons are big business and it is time for the UN
and WTO
To ban weapons sale to any nation, we have enough
already,
Enough is enough, stop the bloodshed, peace, as
Gandhiji sought,
Peace as Jesus taught, Peace is the only answer,
No more weapons sale.
